After last month inking a supply deal with German lottery operator Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH, American gaming machine and systems innovator Scientific Games Corporation has further expanded its presence in Europe after signing a similar agreement with Hungary’s Szerencsejatek Zrt.

Las Vegas-headquartered Scientific Games Corporation revealed that the latest deal will see it launch an online sportsbetting channel for state-owned Szerencsejatek Zrt, which has a monopoly on the selling of instant and draw-based lottery games in the eastern European nation.

Scientific Games Corporation explained that the agreement is to also involve it providing Szerencsejatek Zrt with omni-channel gaming systems technology on an exclusive basis. Additionally, it will be handling the development, installation and maintenance of the lottery firm’s new online sportsbook offering, which is to moreover be made available via mobile devices and through an estate of some 5,000 retail terminals.

Pat McHugh, Global Lottery Systems Senior Vice-President for Scientific Games, declared that the deal will see his firm support Szerencsejatek Zrt ‘in a multi-channel gaming environment’ and provide ‘significant value’ via the integration of ‘end-to-end solutions for all products’ offered by the operator.

Scientific Games Corporation detailed that it has been providing its technology to Szerencsejatek Zrt since 1997 via a legacy company. It rolled out its Aegis open software system across Hungary three years ago.
